Me and You says the way to lower the cost of living is for the state itself to enter markets like banking, credit, fuel, housing, and food as a central competitor. [S4](#source-s4)

## Who is Me and You?

Me and You, the Israeli People's Party, runs under the ballot letters peh and heh. [S1](#source-s1) [S2](#source-s2) It's a single party founded in 2017 and led by Dr. Alon Giladi. [S3](#source-s3) [S4](#source-s4)

## What has Me and You published?

Their website, aniveata.org.il, is one page. [S4](#source-s4) It has an "About" text that takes positions on the cost of living, Gaza, the West Bank, the courts, and health, and it mentions October 7, so it was written in the last few years. [S4](#source-s4) It links to two PDFs. [S4](#source-s4) The first is a 37-page Founding Charter, dated 2016, which the site calls the party's basic principles. [S5](#source-s5) The second is a one-page model preamble for a constitution, called the Israeli Charter. [S6](#source-s6)

So when I quote the charter, keep in mind it's from 2016. Where the charter and the current homepage say different things, I'll point it out.

The party describes itself as "social-liberal, democratic, and Zionist." [S4](#source-s4) Its central idea is replacing what it calls "the rule of capital and nationalism" with "the rule of the individual and the people." [S3](#source-s3) [S6](#source-s6)

## What does Me and You say about security and foreign policy?

The homepage calls its "flagship plan" an Israeli Marshall Plan for a "free, democratic, and demilitarized" Gaza. [S4](#source-s4) Under that plan, a zone they call the "Be'eri Strip" and the Philadelphi corridor, which they call the Samson Corridor, would be under Israeli sovereignty. [S4](#source-s4) Hamas and Islamic Jihad would be disarmed and also outlawed. [S4](#source-s4)

For the West Bank, the homepage calls for a "free, democratic, and demilitarized Palestinian federation." [S4](#source-s4) Israel would keep sovereignty over the northern Dead Sea, the Jordan Valley, the settlement blocs, the Ma'ale Adumim corridor, and a united Jerusalem. [S4](#source-s4) The homepage calls both expulsion and unilateral separation in the West Bank "delusional solutions." [S4](#source-s4)

The 2016 charter backs a two-state framework, a demilitarized Palestinian state, and a referendum on any peace agreement. [S5](#source-s5) It rejects the Palestinian right of return. [S5](#source-s5) One difference: the charter proposes joint sovereignty with the Palestinian state in the Jordan Valley, while the current homepage lists the Jordan Valley under Israeli sovereignty. [S4](#source-s4) [S5](#source-s5)

On Iran and its proxies, including Hezbollah, the charter says Israel should act "with force and determination," in cooperation with the moderate Arab world and "especially the United States." [S5](#source-s5)

## What does Me and You say about accountability for October 7?

I couldn't find a published position on a commission of inquiry. The homepage mentions October 7 as one result of what it calls the corruption of Israel's systems. [S4](#source-s4)

## What does Me and You say about the economy and the cost of living?

This is where they're most specific. The homepage says the cost of living will be solved "only" by the state entering essential markets as a central player: banks, credit, fuel, housing, food, communications. [S4](#source-s4) It says that's the only way to get competition in those fields. [S4](#source-s4)

The charter adds more. [S5](#source-s5) It proposes profitable government enterprises that set a "model" wage, a model profit, and a model consumer price. [S5](#source-s5) It calls for a one-year state budget, a fight against monopolies and cartels, price controls on essential goods, a negative income tax, and a minimum wage it calls "proper." [S5](#source-s5) It also says the party will act to erase the public's debts to capital holders. [S5](#source-s5)

## What does Me and You say about housing?

Housing appears on the homepage's list of markets the state would enter. [S4](#source-s4) The charter proposes a new government ministry with powers in housing and an expanded role for Amidar, the state housing company. [S5](#source-s5) I didn't find a separate housing plan.

## What does Me and You say about religion and state?

The 2016 charter says the state should encourage free, voluntary religious life, and at the same time gradually separate what it calls religion's "coercive dimensions" from state institutions. [S5](#source-s5) It calls for voluntary religious services, "especially in marriage, divorce, and conversion," and new principles for conversion. [S5](#source-s5) I couldn't find a position on Haredi military service or on Shabbat.

## What does Me and You say about the judiciary and governance?

The homepage presents its judicial position as an alternative to both what it calls Levin's "legal reform" and the protests against it. [S4](#source-s4) It calls for "sharp professionalization and independence" for the justice system. [S4](#source-s4) At the same time, it calls for amending the Interpretation Law to remove what it calls "the Aharon Barak agenda" from judging, and for "severe sanctions" on judges who don't rule by the law and the facts. [S4](#source-s4)

The Israeli Charter is a draft preamble for a constitution to be adopted after a referendum. [S6](#source-s6) The founding charter calls for abolishing or substantially changing the electoral threshold. [S5](#source-s5) It also calls for abolishing the Kan public broadcasting corporation and re-establishing the old Broadcasting Authority. [S5](#source-s5)

## What does Me and You say about education?

The charter's goal is free, high-quality education from early childhood through university, reached step by step. [S5](#source-s5) It proposes moving money from buildings to teachers and teacher training, a long school day, and funded training for students in exchange for a period of state service. [S5](#source-s5) It says the curriculum should teach freedom and equality rather than what it calls nationalist content, alongside traditional core subjects. [S5](#source-s5)

## What does Me and You say about health?

The homepage proposes a state "Authority for Medical Means," set up as a parallel to Rafael, the state defense company, to research cancer and heart disease and develop life-saving drugs "through the power of the state." [S4](#source-s4) The charter adds a bigger drug basket guaranteed by law, lower health insurance costs, and new government hospitals in areas far from the center. [S5](#source-s5)

## What does Me and You say about social welfare, pensions and the elderly?

The charter proposes expanding National Insurance and a national-social service as tools to narrow social gaps. [S5](#source-s5) I couldn't find anything specific on pensions or the elderly.

## What does Me and You say about Arab citizens and minorities?

The charter firmly opposes transferring any Arab citizen of Israel to another entity. [S5](#source-s5) The party's registered goals call for uniting the lower and middle classes "without distinction of religion, race, sex, and community." [S3](#source-s3) I didn't find a broader program.

## What does Me and You say about immigration, absorption and the diaspora?

The Israeli Charter includes the "ingathering of the exiles" in its description of the state. [S6](#source-s6) The founding charter ties new conversion principles to people who want to join the Jewish people in Israel. [S5](#source-s5) I couldn't find an absorption or diaspora program.

## What does Me and You say about the environment, energy and transportation?

The charter calls for an emergency plan to save the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea, including a national desalination plant, and for taking beaches out of private hands and returning them to public use. [S5](#source-s5) I couldn't find anything on energy or transportation.

## What Me and You puts front and center

Their registered goals and the Israeli Charter come back to one idea: give freedom and socioeconomic equality "equal status" in a constitution, with what they call a modern separation of powers between them. [S3](#source-s3) [S6](#source-s6)

## What Me and You hasn't published

Me and You hasn't published a position on October 7 accountability, Haredi service, pensions, energy, or transportation. And much of the detail I read today comes from a charter dated 2016 rather than a platform written for this election.
